Annette Mees makes immersive theater, interactive experiences and adventures.

She is a co-director of Coney, an award-winning arts agency of adventure and play. Coney tells stories where the audience can become the heroes, and which are always live and responsive and an adventure. Coney's work mixes live performance and play with digital and online storytelling. Coney is also a community of artists, makers and players, operating as a Secret Society. Which is run by a Rabbit. Of course. Coney has recently been awarded an National Portfolio status by the Arts Council UK.

Within Coney, Annette focuses on developing new interactive narratives and experiential models, developing new work with writers and actors, and the integration of digital technology and theatrical live events.

She is currently developing a new international interactive theater show Early Days (of a better nation) in collaboration with the National Theatre of Wales, a large scale commission for Kensington Palace, an interactive sound piece for the iPhone for the Edinburgh Art Festival and creating Art Heist, a piece for art institutions in which the audience gets to rob an contemporary art concept.

Coney has made work for and with The National Theatre, Tate Britain, BBC, Channel 4, The Dublin Fringe Festival, 01SJ San Jose Biennial, Bain Numerique in Paris, BAC London and many more.

She was awarded the Theatre Encouragement Award by the Writers Guild of Great Britain for her collaborative work with writers, was named an artist to watch by Courvoisier's Future 500 and holds a Masters in Theatre Directing and studied at the KABK in The Hague and the AHK in Amsterdam. She is now based in London.
